The Kurgan Bus Plant (KAVZ) specializes in the production of midrange buses for urban, local and intercity purposes.
The company is located in the city of Kurgan. The plant was founded in 1958, since 2005 the company has been part of the GAZ Group.

The basic model of the plant is the midrange buses KAVZ-4235 and KAVZ-4238 in local, intercity and school-bus modifications.
During the implementation of the federal and regional School Bus programs, the plant supplied to the conveyor line about 6 thousand buses of small and medium capacity to educational institutions in 85 regions of the country.
In 2014, the serial production of environmentally friendly buses KAVZ-4238 CNG (local, intercity) and KAVZ-4270 CNG (urban), running on compressed natural gas, was started.
Kurgan Plant became the first bus-building enterprise in Russia which were developed a school bus in accordance with the requirements of GOST R 51160-98 "Buses for transporting children. Technical requirements".
With transition to the production of midrange buses, the company continues to manufacture «schoolchildren": a modification of the bus for transporting children KAVZ-4238-45 has been developed.
At the moment the company has all the resources to constantly update the model range of buses: the reconstruction of production and modernization of technological flows are carried out, new equipment with software control(cutting and bending of pipe blanks, laser cutting of sheet metal parts) is used.
On KAVZ-4235 buses the imported engine was replaced with a modern domestic YAMZ-534 diesel engine as part of the import substitution program . In parallel, the company is conducting tests on the adaptation of the Yaroslavl engine to the KAVZ-4238 bus
The company develops the production of gas-fueled buses, as well as special-purpose vehicles.
